The China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) and the Water Cultural Development Fund of the China Arts Festival Foundation jointly held a press conference and signing ceremony for cooperation on the Water Cellar for Mothers project on March 6 in Beijing.
Feng Xinghui, director of the Department of Funding Projects at the CWDF, Tian Jianping, president of the China Arts Festival Foundation and its Deputy Secretary General Wei Yuliang, and Lu Fang, secretary general of the Water Cultural Development Fund, attended the event.
According to the organizations, the runoff of the water recourse in China is about 270 million cubic meters, ranking the sixth in the world, but the water resource per capita is only 2,100 cubic meters, which accounts for 28 percent of the world average. Saving water has become a serious issue in the country, and the quality of drinking water has turned into a basic protection of people's livelihoods and the top priority in helping the public stay healthy.
The organizations also stated that the cooperation would focus on popularizing water culture and the public good of healthy drinking water, advocating healthy lifestyle through new technologies and notions, and promoting people's life quality and health conditions.
