"Water Cellar for Mothers", a public welfare project organized by China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF), will hit Yingfeng Village of Leibo, a county in Liangshan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province, solving its water source problems in the near future.

Implementation of this project will occur thanks to support from JD Drinks. The company has focused on safe drinking water issues and water-shortages among villages in Leibo. Cooperating with the CWDF and positive energy promotion platform "Energy China", JD Drinks initiated the 2015 JD Wine Festival. From September 1 to 30, it will donate 1 yuan (U.S. $ 0.16) to the CWDF for every bottle of wine sold. The donation will be used for water cellar construction across Leibo.

At dawn, water carriers can be seen shuttling between ghat and home in Yingfeng Village. Their path usually follows both ravines and valleys, trod out over the course of years.

Zhang Shiluo is used to ascending the mountain with her sisters, carrying a bamboo basket with an empty bucket inside. At the top, they usually take water from two small pools fed by the rain and local spring. During the rainy season, these pools can hardly sate village demand, while in winter, the only source available is melting snow. Generations of villagers have thus been made to suffer due to water-shortages.

Leibo County is located in the east part of Hengduan Mountains, a severe engineering water shortage area. Since 2013, the "Water Cellar for Mothers" initiative has focused on and improved water problems in the region. With 1.5 million yuan (U.S. $ 234,000) in investments made across Leibo County, CWDF developed a central water supply engine while implementing 12 safe drinking water projects on campuses. "Water Cellar for Mothers" ushered in its 15th anniversary during 2015. With more attention paid to rural safe drinking water issues, CWDF will continue its support of Leibo County.
